five days

it is amazing to think baby clem arrived only five days ago.
those sleepy sighs and that insatiable taste for nursing has completely taken over our world. cc is completely smitten too.

clement frank is here

claude's little brother, clement frank fulton, arrived on friday morning.
he is the most handsome little mister.
claude has been excitedly sharing his trucks and singing 'baby clem, baby clem'.
it feels so wonderful to finally meet you baby clement.

the second week of may has been and gone, and still baby hasn't arrived yet. sometimes it feels as if baby is so settled inside he or she will stay there for weeks more. (though I know thats not possible). cc is constantly standing on his toes to pat the bump and asking 'whens baby coming mama?'. soon cc, soon.

.cc smiles at the park
.this traveling gourmet truck serves the tastiest waffles
.mabel's tumbledown garden
.the freshly painted mud room with wooden frames waiting to be hung.
.cc and his pa have a morning meet with some horses.

it seems this whole past week was spent out doors.
cc climbed tree trunks with friends and chased balls.
we strolled from one park to another, soaking up the sunshine when it came and had tired feet by bedtime. the fresh air and walking did us both good.
baby feels settled inside still. so maybe he or she is planning on making us wait a while more before we meet.
cc's grandparents came to town on friday. sadly the mist and storm clouds rolled in too. though cc is so excited to have them here he could happily play indoors with them all weekend. a toast to mothers and grandmothers and a happy nova scotian mothers day.

his date.

cc had a morning stroll with his friend lucy today.
there was hand holding and cuddles.
chases round tree stumps.
hide and seek under huge firs.
he raced around nonstop, collecting sticks and stones.
she settled down with a strawberry ice cream and watched.
then called him when he ran too far away.
there was even a sticky kiss farewell.

two contented two year olds on a morning date makes a lovely start to the week.

what happened mama?

there is sunshine here today. folk are out taking picnics, skaters are whizzing round the park and those canadian checkered shirt sleeves are rolled up high. its a good day in nova scotia. cc is asking "what happened mama?" about anything at the moment. a shadow falling over the stroller. sirens from a fire truck screeching past. spilling tiny crackers in the grass. all met with a "what happened" as those animated palms outstretch like a little mime artist.

.shading from the sun behind his mama's glasses
.a thirty eight week bump, starting to droop
